I have no experience with either Pluxml or GetSimple. there is just simply too many CMS's and blogging tools out there to keep up with. If you;re starting off, pick one you like nad stick with it. And then it might as well be PivotX, it is an awesome tool!

I never tried PivotX until today but It seems to be a pretty good CMS. I am discovering it on your blog, and I will go to see more informations on the official website.

Thanks for this discovering! Is it better than Pluxml or GetSimple? Sorry if my english is not very good, I am from France ;)

"There is not a lot of choices in available themes and extensions (‘plug-ins’)"
That's the problem with PX - as much I would love to use it (since it has flat file option) WP has more interesting templates :/

Thanks for the compliment Hans!

1. That's good news...I hope it's rather sooner than later, because this functionality is really powerfull.

2. I did not know that...is there a list of all available hooks?

3. I'd be honoured. Making a good admin interface here to add different types of fields is the key here. It would be nice if it could include somehting like a datepicker as well, I can see that used in creating 'event' type entries.

I have a couple of comments, but first I must say you have done some nice work here.

1) Yes, custom entry types will be part of the PivotX core in the not too distant future. However, it will most likely only be supported for the MySQL database.

2) There is no need to modify the PivotX core - there is a "modify_pivotx_menu" hook. If you look at the Bonus Fields source code, you can see an example which is very close to what you want.

3) You have created what I would call "Simple Custom Entry Types". I think I'll take your code and make it a little bit more general and release it as a proper extension - if you don't mind. (I'll give you proper credit of course.) I think it will be a killer extension.

For people that were really fast in downloading this template, there was a bug in it, that has now been fixed.

read more about it here: http://forum.pivotx.net/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1594

A very nice theme, indeed. Please let me/us know what is needed on themes.pivotx.net - more extensions, more default posts or something else - to make the previews better/sufficient for your themes.

Thanks Hans! As you point out in your first remark, it is easy to change the location of the anchor tag, but the fact that you can't completely remove it is indeed a short coming.

As for your second remark: The 'prefix' and 'postfix' parameters are there, but this results in another span or div or whatever you want around the link, while it would indeed be so much more logical to just add a class to the link.

In any case, the PS to your comment shows once more that the developers of PivotX are right on the money where it comes to making changes that are useful...
